I love hostelling the BM way!

Of course it's been a bit easier since I've been a regional since 00, first Toronto, now Thailand, but the welcomes have been wonderful.

So far we've stayed with or visited burner friends and new friends in
Ottawa
Vancouver
Calgary
Chicago
Hawaii
Denton Texas
Tucson
Portland
L.A.
San Fran (where we are now)

we of course are hoping to add in
San Diego
Austin
New Orleans
New York

within the next year.

I wholly reccomend emailing the regional rep in the area that you're going to and asking if they would send out a post to the list, even if you're not looking for a place to stay a burner drink night is always wonderful fun!

you people are forgetting, as usual, that not every burner is in the states. there are afew of us all over europe icludin a very friendly burner in amsterdam, she always has people crashiing, germany, spain, sweeden, belguim etc etc

sometimes we euroburners and Austolasian burners just feel so darn unloved and ignored!

Um, in defense -- and I'm surprised a Canadian hasn't responded to this yet, but then again, they're probably waiting for their blood pressure to come back down to three digits over two digits to respond... A number of the cities mentioned were in Canada, which, contrary to some beliefs, is not a state. Of the United States anyway. I also believe Thailand was mentioned, also not one of ours.

I think the person was just relating their own personal itinerary. Pay her way across the pond, and she may sing your praises as well!

?Yeah my bad, i know that the great nation of canada aint a state having lived amongst the doozers as a farm hand in one of my previous lives.
Been workin the night shifts so this is a very tired and sober nurse

it was moreso a comment directed at the general assumption that all burners are from north america, its all this negativity on tribe latley re- non artists and shit, coz it is tricky to take 300 kg of wrought iron for an artpice across the atlantic.

but we are here and very friendly, with sofas and weed for weary overseas friends.

nursey is going to have a ickle sleep and self medicate to calm my nerves and will be much cheerier next time

I know that you're not all in the states! I am Canadian and am the Thailand regional....

I was in Australia last year but couldn't meet up with the Australian rep who was in Melbourne since we were both quite busy. Mark the NZ rep is a great guy. If you're anywhere where there is a rep I reccomend contacting them- this is of course a lot easier in the U.S. where there are more regionals, but this is slowly changing.

I forgot to add in Singapore. My husband hung out with Johari who may become the Singapore rep when he was there in the spring.
