I am in London for another week by myself. I have a list of things I want and will do, but they mostly the standard things. I'm staying with some really great friends in Kensington but want to escape the stuffiness and get a breath of freak air. I went to Camden Market and loaded up on great BM attire. I will probably go back there and spend a little more time checking that place out. Having only a week, what are the absolute must-do's for the not-so-stuffy type?

Re: FUN in London
Sun, July 10, 2005 - 8:32 AMhey alanna i live in camden town, funky little place indeed
if you had've posted to the mailing list at www.euroburners.org you the london announce list you could have scouted out some burner fun, picnic is happening in the park now. unfortunalty you picked a bad time burner wwise no-where the spanish regional is takin place next week and everyone is hecticly planning that.
parliment hill in hampstead heath (lush out door park bout 3 tube stops from camden) has a realy funky art installation there at the minute and breathtaking views of the whole of london.
Covent garden is always happening durning the day time and night time
prtabello road has a great saturday market.
there is a theme camp meeting for our playa camp on wednesday not sure why you'd wanna attednt that but thats an option.
but unfortunalty everyone is hercticly planning the spanish regional but if you had've mailed in advance i'm sure drunkennurse and alanna could have been very naughty and stayed out all night partying.
where you off to next after london on your travels?
glad to hear your ok after thursadays hecticness
well gotta shoot, working nights all this week to get time off for burning fun -

Mon, July 11, 2005 - 1:18 AMThanks Drunkennurse.
Glad that you are ok too. I hope everyone you know is accounted for. very frightening stuff.
I know. I should have been a little more organized and done my homework by contacted you and others before getting here.
I think I'm going to head back up to Camden Town to have more extensive look around on either Wed or Thursday. I was only there for a short time but got the feeling it would be one of my favorite places in London. Do you have any recommendations of things to do (places for lunch, drinks, shopping, seeing, etc) in your town? -

Re: FUN in London
Mon, July 11, 2005 - 4:28 PMI have checked out cyberdog. spent way too much money in there but so worth it as i can't find anything like that at home. best store in the world as far as i'm concerned.
i'll check out those places as well as the music store. as i matter of fact, when i was in cyberdog they were playing this unbelievable music. i wish i had my hoop with me. but i snagged a copy of whatever it was. hopefully i can find more like that in that music shop across the way.
i will definitely be up there. as a matter of fact, i will make it a plan to be there early afternoonish on thursday. i'd love to catch that drink and meet a fellow burner so far away from home. i'll message you off this post.

Mon, July 11, 2005 - 6:31 PMGod bless the internet.
I was poking around in the CyberDog webcam archives and sure enough, there's Alanna, trying to make a hoop out of drinking straws and cursing like a motherf**ker for not having a hoop with her. Hope you're okay. Those beefy British security dudes looked a little rough. -
